It’s like finally, the official release date of WordPress 5.0 has been announced on WordPress.org.
According to Gary Pendergast, the poetry writer of Automattic, the proposed release date of WordPress 5.0 is scheduled on 19th November 2018. However, the release has been postponed to 8 days later. Thus, everyone can expect to see the important and the biggest update latest on 27th November 2018!
The founder of WordPress dropped another stunning news, the public release and announcement of WordPress 5.0 on 6th December 2018.
In summary of the latest announcement:
- All of the default themes by WordPress have been adopted to the block editor.
- The classic editor is still available to download and use in WordPress 5.0.
- Improved accessibility of the written content, ARIA labels can be saved in posts and pages now.
- The upcoming PHP 7.3 is supported.
- Translatable strings are able to be added to JavaScript code with the JavaScript language packs.

Nonetheless, there are also sources that indicate if things do not go smoothly as scheduled, they will postpone the release to next year, 22 January 2019.

The first term you have to know about Gutenberg is ‘blocks. In Gutenberg, every element is a ‘block’, including images, texts, headings, custom codes, embeds, videos, separators, etc. You can even input a button in your post without any coding. With Gutenberg, you can drag and drop each block, determine the content and define the specification for every single block.
